His work includes influential studies of vocational training and young people’s search for better jobs in Uganda, women’s empowerment and support for adolescent girls, the long-term effects of anti-poverty programs, and the relationship between the management of public organizations and the quality of public-service delivery. 

Across these areas, his research seeks to understand not only whether an intervention works, but also why it works, how its effects develop over time, and what its findings imply for policy.

Who is Imran Rasul? 

Professor Imran Rasul is Professor of Economics at University College London, as well as President of the Royal Economic Society and Director of the ESRC Institute for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. He also serves as Co-Director of the Stone Centre on Wealth Concentration, Inequality and the Economy, and Co-President of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development. 

Professor Rasul has established an international reputation for his research in labor, development, and public economics, with work that combines innovative empirical methods and policy relevance to address critical social and economic challenges.
