The Business of American Sports- a fan's perspective. This lecture will focus on everything from the revenue of the Big 4 leagues to how recruiting and contracts work. Want to know what a salary cap is? How has gambling affected the sports industry? What's the Caitlin Clark effect? These are the questions that will be investigated while giving the perspective of someone who has been involved at various levels of American sports. The first lecture will focus on the history, background, and main revenue streams, while the second lecture will explore the processes beyond the athletes themselves- the front office.
