ABSTRACT: Economics, like other empirical sciences, faces persistent concerns about the robustness and generalizability of its findings. This presentation discusses how coordinated replication, multi-site experimentation, and crowd-science methodologies can generate systematic evidence on the robustness of research findings. Drawing on ongoing large-scale projects, including work in Lab², it is shown how variations in populations, research designs, and analytical choices contribute to heterogeneity in outcomes and how collaborative approaches help disentangle these sources of variation.

BIO: Levent Neyse is a behavioral economist whose research explores how individuals make economic and social decisions, using surveys and experiments to study preferences, beliefs, and decision-making processes. He also works on meta-scientific topics such as replicability and research transparency. Levent leads the SOEP Innovation Sample at DIW Berlin and co-directs the Lab² metascience lab at WZB Berlin. He is an associate editor at the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, an affiliated researcher at IZA, and a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics.
