C1 Advanced - Group Writing Seminar Timothy Burdick

In this interactive group seminar, students preparing for the Cambridge Advanced (CAE) exam will take part in a guided writing workshop focused on developing their written expression. The session will begin with a brief presentation introducing a CAE-style writing task and key aspects of effective exam writing. Students will then engage in a short period of free writing to generate ideas and practice spontaneous written production. Afterwards, participants will work in small groups, reading their texts aloud and discussing them collaboratively. With the teacher’s guidance, students will receive specific, constructive feedback on content, organisation, language, and register. The aim of the seminar is to build confidence, encourage reflection on writing choices, and deepen students’ understanding of the CAE writing assessment criteria.
