Knowledge of the Hungarian history is essential for understanding the recent Hungary and Hungarian society and politics. The Hungarian history was full of highs and lows. This lecture gives an introduction to the ideological and historical roots of this topic. The presentation shows the “ferry-land” conception between East and the West, the Hungarian independence traditions and the Hungarian ideas about the cooperation between the Central European nations. The lecturer is dr. Máté Gali PhD, historian, research fellow of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (Budapest, Hungary)
